A Whole Lot of Nothing

There’s a lot a about meditation and psychedelics and their intersection that exists beyond the scope of description.

If that doesn’t make you curious, please stop reading. I’m probably not for you. 🤷‍♂️

I had a moment this morning in mediation that I’ve only ever felt before with the aid of a third party substance. I’ll try to put it to words.

I felt tiny. The end.

Just kidding kind of. It’s really just that I felt to scale. I felt like an ant looking up at a human ad I imagined the universe stretching out before me. And I began to wonder what the truth of that situation is and what if anything, it even matters.

The feeling was of an infinite nothing stretching put from within me that dwarves the tiny earthy plane we pretend is all of existence.

The metaphor of space is how i like to think of the process of going inward. Inward is the infinite. Outward is the infinite. Explain the distinction to me.

It’s similar in spirit to a moment in yoga where you decide to allow your body to stretch a little further. You say body, relax and do as i say, no sass just do it...bend a little further. Allow it to happen without resistance and it does. A conscious acknowledgment of our body as an object trapped in space and time and separate from what we call self but completely under our control. Understanding our place in the infinite. Tap into our insignificance in the scheme of the external world. Understand our control begins within us.

And all of a sudden it’s not your finger touching the ground as you bend over, it’s your first knuckle and then your second and we being to see the power of our minds over not only our bodies but our environment as we perceive it.
