Cleansed by Fire

When I burned down

the relationships with my oppressors

I rioted with words

complete destruction as a last resort

And like the flames in the cities

those words became the tools

for the evil men to use

to obscure the truth to dismiss the abuse

A narcissist is a racist

against everyone who is not them

a race of one

hating as an act of faith

Cleansed by Rain

I like to sit outside in the wind and the rain

to feel and hear it all as I seek to know my brain

I close my eyes and count my breaths

to learn the truths as I contemplate death

When enough time has passed for my ego to recede

I feel the force of life as it ruffles the tree

I need no more than what the world provides

imagine the wonders you'll see when you learn to close your eyes
