The year is 2020. America sits as divided as it has ever been. A cold civil war has been raging since 1970's. A national consensus is about as elusive as a yeti. There is a large contingent of so called moderates who see this as a both sides problem and there are large contingents of partisans who see whatever happens through their preferred lens. The national media for the most part is still tragically choosing to see this as a "both sides" story. Where is the truth?

The truth is this. There can be no unity with the modern Republican Party. They have abandoned the idea of the legitimacy of all their political enemies. Not America's enemies, mind you. The President is very clear about his affections for Putin and Un. They don't say democrats have bad ideas about heath care or taxes. They say they are the enemy who needs to be destroyed. All one needs to do is go look at Trump's Twitter feed. Its right there. Anyone who doesn't enthusiastically lick Trump's boots is a subhuman deserving of no representation from the POTUS and fair game for harassment. There exists no analog of hatred on the left to complete with the disunity spewing forth from the President. The GOP downplays his twitter feed. The right continues to pretend calling the President "an imposter" or "impotent" is the height of disrespect while completely ignoring the reality of who leads their party and how he behaves.

Look at he picture above. To call for unity in this country one must understand where the disunity is being born. That's the presidents son holding an assault rifle that has two images. One is a crusaders cross. A sign of Christian domination and of a clash of civilizations. We are not a Christian nation. Full stop. We are a nation however who has been at war with radical Islam for quite some time. Its a war of ideas and ideologies. It's complex and is weighted down by centuries of historical conflicts and bad blood. The presidents job is to do what's best for the country.
